Course Description An introduction to the process of program development including planning, coordinating, and promoting special events, including obtaining sponsorships of various kinds. Major thrust is selection and application of marketing principles and strategies in order to develop an understanding of the factors involved in working with nonprofit organizations which provide a service to the community, as well as application of various components of the promotional mix where applicable. This class is primarily an applications class in which students will assist with the planning, coordinating, and promotion of college night at selected middle schools and high schools, and arrange for and deliver classroom presentations in selected high schools and middle schools.
